Ryan Taylor removed from undercard after altercation
Ryan Taylor will no longer fight on the Simple Simon undercard against Ed Matthews.
The YouTuber was due to face American Slim Albaher next month on July 16 at Indigo at London’s O2 Arena.
But Taylor – who was disqualified after headbutting former opponent DK Money – was removed from the show entirely after he got into a physical altercation with fellow influencer Albaher earlier this month at a hotel in London .
Albaher, 27, later revealed he had suffered retinal detachment as a result of the unprovoked attack.
Kingpyn Promoters Boxing could not be reached initially for comment.
However, they have now confirmed they are investigating the incident.
A statement read: “Due to recent events, we regret to confirm that the Ryan Taylor vs. Slim fight will no longer be part of next month’s show.
“No fighters will be on the card and Kingpyn is pursuing a full internal investigation into the matter.
“KINGPYN will not be commenting further on this specific issue, but we will soon be announcing further pay-per-view bouts for what is going to be a huge night of boxing on July 16th at O2 Indigo.”
It comes after Albaher accused Taylor of physically assaulting him in the hotel lobby.
He told his YouTube channel: “I faked him to back off. I wasn’t trying to be aggressive in any way. I literally did it to get him away from me because he’s I wanted to keep this professional.
“He charges me hard, he throws kicks, literally grabs me in a headlock. And he squeezes very, very hard. I grabbed his arm to try to release the pressure of this headache but he wouldn’t let go.
“He also started punching me and my eye while shaking my head and I reacted by trying to defend myself. I started swinging punches from the position I feel like I only caught him once in the face compared to the multiple times he punched me in the eye.
“I got punched so hard in my eyeball it literally grabbed me inside my eyeball. He’s a fake gangster, this guy is a fake badass, he needs some a cheap shot to get anything because he knows in a clean one-on-one fight he wouldn’t stand a chance.
“I fell to the ground because one of the punches hit me right in the eyeball.
“For a few minutes I couldn’t see with my left eye and I still have trouble seeing with my left eye.
“It’s really humiliating and after seeing countless eye doctors after talking to countless people, the doctors told me I’m not even allowed to fight right now. I can’t m training, I can’t do anything and I’m so sad about it. The doctor told me that my retina was detached and I had countless swellings in the back and front of my eye.
“I was told I couldn’t train, I couldn’t do boxing, I couldn’t do anything anytime soon, which is so upsetting.”
