Properties under new management in the Carolinas


Hospitality Ventures Management Group (HVMG) and Davidson Hospitality Group have taken over hotel management in North and South Carolina.

Hotel Management Group (HVMG)
Hospitality Ventures Management Group (HVMG), a private Atlanta-based hotel management and investment company, has signed management agreements to immediately begin operations of the 105-room TownePlace Suites Charlotte Fort Mill and the Holiday Inn Express & Charlotte Suites with 123 rooms. Ballantyne. The two hotels mark the ninth and tenth buyouts in the past two months.

Located just outside of Indian Land, the TownePlace Suites is less than five miles from Ballantyne Corporate Park and adjacent to the Red Ventures headquarters. Hotel amenities include a free hot breakfast, an outdoor swimming pool, a patio around an outdoor fireplace and two Weber grills, a fitness center, meeting space, game room, laundry facilities reserved for hotel guests and a workspace in the lobby. The rooms have a fully equipped kitchen with a large oven, four burners, a large refrigerator, a dishwasher and a microwave.

Close to Ballantyne Corporate Park, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites is located near Siemens, Premier Inc. and Accenture, as well as a short drive from Uptown Charlotte. The hotel offers a free Grab & Go Express Start breakfast, meeting room, business center, 24/7 fitness center and outdoor swimming pool. Rooms feature Simply Smart bedding, Wi-Fi, mini-fridge and microwave.

Davidson Hotel Group
Davidson Hospitality Group was contracted by RLJ Lodging Trust to manage the Mills House Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina, under Pivot, its vertical operating mode.

Built in 1853, the property, also known as “The Pink Hotel”, is a testament to Charleston’s history and includes 216 guest rooms and suites, 10,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, and the Barbadoes Room restaurant. Under new management, the property will undergo a significant transformation and high repositioning.

In the city of Charleston, Pivot also operates the Bella Grace Hotel and the Ryder Hotel. The Mills House hotel is located in the heart of historic Charleston, close to the King Street shopping district, as well as the City Market and other popular tourist attractions. Since the property opened in the mid-19th century, the Mills House Hotel, named and built by local grain merchant Otis Mills, has witnessed a myriad of significant historical events and the hotel has miraculously survived the destruction of the city during the civil war. Although it was demolished and replicated in 1968, key elements of the original building, including ironwork and cornices, have been preserved and are still part of the hotel’s architecture.
