Opening of the GiGi Restaurant and Lounge at V Palm Springs
PALM SPRINGS, CA – The V Palm Springs Hotel has announced that it will host a grand opening celebration on Saturday at GiGi’s Restaurant & Lounge, the hotel’s second restaurant. The grand opening will be an invitation-only affair.
In a statement, GiGi’s vibe is described as “the luxurious glamor of Palm Springs nostalgia combined with a vibrant, fun and engaging high-energy environment.”
The restaurant, which will begin taking reservations on October 28, will offer specialty craft cocktails and a menu that includes appetizers and “dishes reinvented from classics of the golden age.” The property is operated by Geragos Global Hospitality (GGH) and Greg Grossman is the Executive Chef.
âToday more than ever, we have seen younger consumers intrigued by the sophistication, preparation and flavors of foods and beverages that were commonplace many years ago,â said Grossman. âWe wanted to create an environment that brings those vintage flavors and glamorous preparations into the 21st century, creating a shareable, engaging and above all fun dining experience in Palm Springs.
“We focused on creating a venue that integrates live entertainment, DJs and programming in a high-energy yet sophisticated environment perfect for a Thursday night, as well as a bachelorette party. on a Saturday evening in high season. “
Palm Springs-based interior designer Christopher Kennedy was consulted on GiGi’s design, which the statement said “reflects desert culture with its earth tones and pops of color.” The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating and has a bar and cocktail lounge with fireplace.
âI am delighted that V Palm Springs has turned to a local design firm to create a unique dining experience at their hotel,â Kennedy said. âHaving lived in Palm Springs for almost 20 years, I am delighted to create a fun and fresh place for visitors and locals alike. Our design for GiGi’s is both nostalgic and completely current, simultaneously speaking to the past and the Palm Springs’ future as a world-class resort destination. “
The V Palm Springs offers 143 hotel rooms, two swimming pools, event space, and a gym.
In addition to GiGi’s, the establishment is home to the Elixir Bar and Grill, a Polynesian-inspired tiki bar that serves Asian-inspired grills.
GGH, which operates both restaurants, said it plans to open a third restaurant at V Palm Springs by the end of the year. It is expected to be a mid-century themed sports lounge and game room concept, and will feature innovative snacks and barista service during the day. The restaurant will change to a taproom lounge at night.
