Bangkok hotel to become Vignette Collection’s first Asian property
Sindhorn Midtown, designed by Eight Inc, which opened at the very start of the pandemic, will be the first Asian hotel under IHG’s new collection brand.
Sindhorn Midtown will strengthen IHG’s presence in Southeast Asia.
The Vignette collection is growing
This month, IHG and Siam Sindhorn Co announced that Sindhorn Midtown in Bangkok will join IHG’s new Vignette Collection luxury and lifestyle brand in March 2022. The news further builds on the successful partnership between the two companies which led to the opening of Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok in 2020, which meant the launch of the Kimpton brand in Southeast Asia. Both hotels are within the Sindhorn Village development project.
Serena Lim, Vice President of Development at SEAK for IHG, said, “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Siam Sindhorn and welcome Sindhorn Midtown as our first Vignette Collection hotel in Asia, located in vibrant Bangkok and demonstrating our sustainable growth continues in the Kingdom. We have developed a strong working relationship with the team at Siam Sindhorn, working closely on Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, which became the talk of the town when it launched amid the pandemic.
Khun Chalaluck Bunnag, Managing Director, added, “We have a fantastic relationship with IHG and had a great experience working with the IHG team during the brand’s debut and Kimpton’s successful rollout in South East Asia.
“We know they are the right partner for Sindhorn Midtown and are proud to introduce it as the first Vignette Collection hotel to open in Thailand and Asia. Together with IHG’s strong in-country team and its global business and systems, we are confident they will make this hotel a great success.
Bold art and design
The 393-key Sindhorn Midtown, which opened in March 2020, was designed by Eight Inc, with effortless elegance displayed through inspired interiors incorporating innovative technology and bold art. Each room and suite is decorated with artwork by local artists such as Kachama Perez and designer accents like Fritz Hansen’s signature Drop chairs.
The hotel is home to three restaurants and bars, including a collaboration with Michelin-starred establishment Saneh Jaan, as well as a rooftop swimming pool, fitness center and over 170 m² of meeting space. Located in Langsuan district, the property is just 40 minutes from Suvarnabhumi Airport.
